An Afternoon Out With Gus

So I went up to Bryan and Nikki's to check on Annabelle and took Gus along for the ride. Gus loves going in the truck so he was thrilled. He did stay in the truck while I went in a played with Annabelle. I figure having her parents gone is enough change and adding a snorting pug into the mix would be a bit much for her. After playing kill the feather mouse and lots of petting, I hopped back in the truck to head home.
As we were going along I decided to stop off at Petco. I was a bit concerned since Gus hadn't been on his leash in public for a while. (He doesn't need it in the yard) He did great though. He got all kinds of compliments and attention. We do need to work on heal a bit more since he still pulls a little. He picked out a new rope toy and got a pigs ear. I also picked up some clippers for his dew claw. The other claws are fine since they get worn down on the pavement, but his dew claw is pretty long. I am a bit hesitant to cut his claws since I can't see the quick, but I'll figure it out :)
On the way home we swung out to a nearby state park. I was hoping that they had plowed the road out and maybe Gus and I could get a quick walk in. No luck though still snowed in. We did see some nice vistas and lots of tubeing amongst the maple trees. A sure sign of spring the sap is running!
This will be the first spring that we have had Gus. My floors are already looking pretty dirty and it's not even "mud season" yet. I see a LOT of mopping in my future. It does make me very happy that we are carpet free :) Long live laminate!
